ArtisanCam
Review: ArtisanCam is a wonderful resource for everything art. There are tons of things to explore and lots of processes to learn about. Children can…
design a duvet cover using virtual sewing machine …
explore perspective and make their own landscape ….
decorate a plate and fire it in a virtual kiln….
make their own poster for Kew gardens using lino-print process…
design their very own bangles or brooches….
create comic books…
explore pop art…
have a go at land art in the tress or on the beaches…
try to shoot a photo for a magazine…
screen print….
paint virtually….
explore color…..
sculpt a two ton stone into 3D …..
etc etc etc. In addition to these there are step by step animated guides on making things such as collages, mosaics, weaving etc. There are some activities about sculptures and drawing pictures of animated beings, so be sure that the learners know the Islamic ruling about it. There are also virtual workshops complete with videos and time-lapses on processes such as textile printing, painting on textiles, ceramics etc. In teachers section you will find many lesson plans and some great ideas on integrating art and these activities in other subjects and literacy. Children can also read about different art forms and artists, though reading about artists may not be much beneficial. Over all an overwhelming amount of resources to explore and learn from.
